A guided 6–7 month da'wah training program for young American Muslims, designed to strengthen their Islamic knowledge and da'wah abilities while transforming how they understand their purpose, approach life, and engage with the world. Rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, the program equips students to remain grounded and effective in calling others to Allah within a complex cultural environment.

About the program

Speaking the language of the people

Bilisan Qawmihi (بلسان قومه) was created in response to a major challenge facing da'wah in the United States. Many sincere and knowledgeable callers to Islam were raised in different cultural and linguistic environments. At times, this can create a gap between the way the message is presented and the experiences, questions, and concerns of people who grew up in America.

Allah ﷻ says:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ

"We never sent a messenger except in the language of his people so that he might make the message clear to them." (Ibrahim 14:4)

Speaking the language of a people means more than using the same words. It means understanding their culture, recognizing their concerns, relating to their hopes and struggles, and presenting the truths of Islam in a way that speaks clearly to their minds and hearts. The messengers were sent from among their own people, familiar with their lives and able to communicate Allah's guidance with clarity and wisdom.

Inspired by this Qur'anic principle, Bilisan Qawmihi prepares young American Muslims to become grounded and effective callers to Allah. Rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, the program equips students with the knowledge, wisdom, and character demonstrated by the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions in conveying the message of Islam with clarity, compassion, and purpose.

One Real Project

This is not just theory. You will design and carry out a da'wah project in your own community, with guidance at every step.

A Weekly Rhythm

The program includes a consistent weekly session, a rotating student khatirah, and regular reminders to help you stay focused and on track.

Curated Materials

Each stage includes a selected book, along with carefully chosen articles and videos to support your learning when you need them.

Real Accountability

Attendance, assignments, and project progress are all tracked. Your facilitator will follow your journey and help you keep moving forward.

Establishing the Da'iyah

Understand the call and become the person who carries it: identity, steadfastness, patience, and sacrifice.

Move from conviction to practice: read your audience, choose your approach, and speak with wisdom.

See the wider picture: the state of the Ummah, and how your own work connects to it.

Turn individual effort into organized, lasting work, and learn what stops it.

What We Expect From You

Show Up
Sessions are held weekly. Attendance is tracked because being present, engaged, and consistent is a major part of the journey.
Do the Work
Each session includes short preparation assignments, such as readings, videos, and quick reflection checks to help you come ready to participate.
Run Your Project
You will design your own da'wah project and put it into action in the real world, with a goal of carrying it out at least till the end of the program.
Stay Consistent
Growth does not happen all at once. Small steps taken every week will carry you further than short bursts of effort.
